Md. Mahadi Hasan is a Consultant of Groundwater Management at “Go! Innovative”. He has served as Hydrogeologist cum Data Manager at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh under the project “Managed Aquifer Recharge for Community Water in Saline Areas“. Previously he also worked as Hydrogeologist in the project “Action Research on Groundwater Buffering in Bangladesh”. He has completed his graduation in Geology from the Department of Geology, University of Dhaka in 2009.
Shovon Barua has accomplished his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc Honours) and first Master of Science (M.Sc Thesis) in Geology from Department of Geology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. After completing his graduation, he joined a research project “Groundwater Arsenic Mitigation Issue and Human Health Risk in Bangladesh” with Columbia University (Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory). Later he worked in a UNICEF-funded project “Action Research on Groundwater Buffering in Bangladesh” to provide safe drinking water to local people of coastal areas. He was also involved with a joint research project “Convergence of Earth Science and Geohazards in Bangladesh” with Vanderbilt University and University of Dhaka. Currently he is a graduate student at Department of Geology in Kansas State University to pursue second MS degree where he is researching on the possible impacts on shallow to deep groundwater chemistry and quality from proximal surface water bodies due to occurrence of fecal indicator bacteria, labile organic carbon and the liberation of toxic elements into aquifers.
